Where your text goes
Nowhere it shouldn't. There's no server and no account on the free plan — the popup reads what's already on your screen.
The extracted text rests in your browser's own local storage for the half-second it takes to reach the other tab, then it's wiped. It never travels anywhere else.
And it never sends for you. ChatGPT gets the text sitting in its input box — reading it before it goes out is on you, exactly as if you'd typed it.
