Claude to Chatgpt transfer ("the extension", "we", "us") is a browser extension built to help users move Claude conversation context to another AI chat tool or export it as local files. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.

The short version

The extension reads the visible conversation on your Claude.ai tab only when you choose to transfer or export it. The context is prepared inside your browser. We do not run a server that receives, stores, sells, or logs your conversation content.

What the extension accesses

Claude.ai page content — to read the visible conversation you choose to transfer or export.
Supported destination pages — to place the prepared context into the selected chat input for your review.
Local browser storage — to temporarily store prepared context, selected destination, and usage information during the transfer flow.
Clipboard write access — used only as a fallback if automatic insertion into a destination input is unavailable.

The extension requests access only to the websites required for its transfer and export workflow. It does not access unrelated websites, does not read your general browsing history, and does not monitor unrelated tabs.

Supported websites

The extension currently supports Claude as the source website and selected AI chat tools as destinations, including chatgpt.com, gemini.google.com, and grok.com. Access to these websites is used only to complete the user-selected transfer workflow.

What user data is processed

The extension may process conversation text visible on Claude.ai because that text is needed to create a handoff prompt, a full Markdown transcript, and a TXT export. This conversation text may include personal communications if you have written personal information inside the chat.

The extension may also process page content from supported source and destination websites only for the purpose of transferring or exporting context.

What we collect

We do not collect conversation content on our servers. Prepared context is processed locally in your browser.

The extension may temporarily save prepared context in Chrome extension storage so that the destination page or download flow can receive it after opening. This local storage is used only for the extension's transfer/export purpose.

The extension may display usage information, such as current session and weekly usage status. This information is shown only to the user inside the extension interface.

Transfers to other services

When you choose a destination, the extension inserts the prepared context into that service's chat input for your review. The extension does not auto-submit prompts. You decide whether to send the message.

Your use of any third-party AI service is subject to that service's own terms and privacy policy.

Downloads

When you choose the download option, the extension creates local Markdown and TXT files in your browser. These files are saved to your device through your browser's download feature.

Cookies and analytics

The extension does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or analytics tied to your conversations.

If our marketing website uses analytics or essential cookies in the future, we will disclose that separately on the website.

Paid plans

If we introduce a paid plan in the future, we may collect the minimum information needed to manage a subscription, such as an email address and subscription status. Payment details would be handled by a payment processor and would not be stored by us. This policy will be updated if paid billing is enabled.

Data retention

We do not retain conversation text on our servers. Any temporary context stored by the extension is stored locally in the user's browser for the transfer workflow.

Users can remove locally stored extension data by clearing extension storage or uninstalling the extension.

Your choices

You can review prepared context before sending it.
You can choose not to transfer context to another service.
You can download Markdown/TXT context files instead.
You can clear local extension storage from your browser settings.
You can uninstall the extension at any time.

Children

The extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
